Reacher

Weird part of modern television/movie tech keeps getting hammered into me by this season's Reacher. They have a senator, and they have flashbacks of him when he'd be in his 20s, so they digitally de-aged him. But he looks nothing like what anyone who watched Buffy knows the actor looked like then.

Reacher — Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator, has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served.

It's always "Hi April. It's Mary Peltola. Give me a chance to explain why I need your money" and never "Hi April. It's Mary Peltola. Give me a chance to explain why Reacher can go several days without eating while maintaining his statuesque physique and expending more energy than an average city."

I didn’t see the dénouement of that scene coming though. I was like, “Jesus, Reacher 😳” I’m enjoying Docherty. He’s every, ‘cynical detective just punching his clock till retirement because he’s become disillusioned with the job since you can’t *really* make a difference so what’s the point?’ 😁

Everything he does is completely deadpan. He has the same facial expression whether he’s cuddling a kitten, twisting someone’s head off, eating a sandwich or having sex. That’s part of what is so perfect about Ritchson’s performance. He plays Reacher like someone with autism & he does it so well.
